Ah no more stress. For now. Let's intro this entry with my day. In the morning, I went to school to run with gl. It was so hazy lah! Ran for about 40 minutes. Think I must have tortured my lungs. Poor lungs. Then we went back to my house to bathe. Went to meet kim and shu hui after that to buy shooting shoes. They only had one pair left so bought that one. They ought to have stock in about 1-2 months. The rear sights cost $300 so they said it's better to just make do with it since the problem isn't too serious. Bought new screws for the sights too. Since the screws got lost. Next, went to meet my sec sch friend to go eat. We have this tradition. Ever since sec 1, we would go out after a major exam and celebrate by eating at nice places. Went to cafe cartel this time. We started eating at about 3.30pm, so only ate one meal today. Next we watched a movie and went to walk around. Then her bf came so here I am, typing. Spent so much money. Ah well. :P
Ok why is cogito ergo sum flawed? Translated, it means "I think, therefore I am". But someone pointed out that all we can know is that there is thought. "I" thinks. So it doesn't really connect with "therefore I am".
What does thinking do? Does it serve a purpose? Is thinking even important? If you you want to argue that thinking is what distinguishes us from animals, then yes it is important.
For if one does not think, one is no better than an animal, which is incapable of thinking (that we may never know).
However, if you don't want to make that comparison, then basically, it can be said that thinking might be meaningless. Both the person who lives life thinking and the person who lives life not thinking will in the end, suffer the same fate. Death. Thinking serves no purpose, unless thinking translates into action. If a person who thinks makes better decisions than a person who doesn't think, then the thinking person is better off.
Btw I can't believe my cool captain remembers the steak quote as well
