Hmm. Ok yay Cdans is finally over. You know what? I don't even know the full name of the competition. Is it Cdans interschool something? Can't think of another name for it. Haha ok. The past week was quite...tiring.
Woke up at 5.45am on Mon, Tues, Wed and Fri to shoot 1 or 2 rounds of final 10 shots in school at 6.20am. Thurs woke up at 6.50am or something to reach school at 7.10 to shoot.
I normally wake up at 7am.
Ok so shoot in the morning, then in the afternoon, have to stay back until 5pm to shoot another round of final 10s.
For the _ competition shot, load!
Attention, 3-2-1 START!

STOP
Ah well...even though I had more sleep than some people... Dozed off in lectures like nobody's business. I never used to fall asleep during lectures. No matter how boring they were, somehow or another, I would remain conscious. Then it's like, last week I think I drifted off to sleep in more lectures than I remained awake for. Tutorials were terrible too. Fell asleep for most of them. Had to rely on hiding behind my friends to keep out of sight.
During the week, my shots fluctuated 12-13 points! From 85 to 97.9. Hmm. Yeah.
Today was quite nerve-wrecking. Felt more nervous today than last week. Hmm. Went to the toilet quite a number of times. Should've eaten more fruits during the week. Bleah.
Ok so... went to Cdans, and prepared outside the electronic range for about half an hour or more. My heart was pulsing so hard that I could feel a pulse on my right forefinger when I pressed the trigger. Hmm. Never really noticed how many TV screens they had until today. Outside the final 10 room, they had one big tv for every lane inside. Inside, they have a big tv above every lane for the audience to see the shots and a small little tv in front of every shooter. Whenever a shot is fired, a little(for pistols) or big(for rifles) red dot would appear on an image of a card to indicate where the shot landed.
Before the shoot, we assembled behind the room and an uncle briefed us about the shoot. Rules and all. Tried to make us feel less nervous by telling us about his experience. Then it was time so we went in. Stood at lane 3. Tried to calm down. Didn't look at the crowd behind me most of the time. For me, it's not the crowd that makes me nervous. Cos I had 7 other shooters out there with me haha. But best not to look at them anyway.
Found my position quite easily, if it can be considered a proper position. Gave up on the standing parallel to the lane thingy. Thought that the cards looked weird, then realised why. There was no dark coloured stand at the bottom to support the cards. So had to use the black dot alone to gauge where to place my sight picture. And they had yellow lights shining on the card. Hmmm. The table felt unusually low, so placed my gun box on it to rest my gun.
Shot about 13-16 shots for sighters in 7 minutes. As usual, I didn't sight my gun. Haven't sighted it since I first got it. The first shot. I shot it and waited. Closed my eyes and didn't realise that Shu Hui was taking too long to shoot. After a long time, I opened my eyes and I saw her aiming. Then I suddenly heard "STOP" and she fired off. Oh no. Too late. Gosh. Bad way to start the competition. Man.... Tried not to think about how she felt while shooting. Just tried to concentrate on shooting the whole thing. I shot about 2 or 3 8.somethings and 2 10.0. The rest were 9.somethings. Gosh, the highest score I got was a what...10.0. But then as usual my sight picture was weird and everything so not complaining. In the end, I shot a 93.3. Add that to the 350 I shot last week and it becomes a 443.3. Just managed to scrape a win. The second girl was like...1.something points behind me. So close.
Was quite shakey after it ended. Cos didn't really know what to do. Came out and everyone came to talk to the three of us. After a while, saw SH walk off in the direction of the toilet. Quickly went off in her direction. Didn't see her but tried the toilet anyway. Kim was there. Waited outside the cubicles for SH. (Skip a few frames). Their HC ex-teammate came into the toilet and told us that Mr Lee wanted to talk to us. Kim told her to tell Lee that we went bowling but we went out to meet him in the end. So he talked to us as usual. Explained stuff. About treating it as a lesson learnt...stuff like that. Held SH's hand while Lee was speaking and after a while, Kim came over and held my other hand. Haha.
Lee told us that Cdans wanted to give the three of us membership. Cool.
Ok so went back in to watch the pistol guys and the riflers. We got the challenge trophy in the end. After we received all our medals and stuff, YX tried to lead in a cheer. Muahahaha... NJ oi! (OI!) NJ oi! (OI!) Sut sut!! (Silence... everyone laughs) Right. Hilarious haha.
Ok so got individual and team gold. Hmm. I've never gotten a gold for anything since...pri 2? And that was for sports day. Some kiddy event. In sec sch, I only got a team bronze for squash in sec 2. Hmmm.
I don't think I've crashed before for any shooting competition I've been to. Just...under-perform a little. Under-perform means no PB hahaha. Or not close to it anyway. Ok. Right. And everytime, I always have a feeling that I did terribly but turns out not as bad as I expected.
Ok.
Note: It's called the 5th hometeamNS interschool shooting competition 2005.
