First practical lesson

Had my first driving lesson yesterday night. Booked the last session, 9.40 to 10.50pm. Apparently it's about $20 cheaper than the other lessons. So exciting. I got car no. 1! Yay.

Met my instructor and he got into the driver's seat while I got into the passenger's seat. He showed me how to adjust the seat and the mirrors. Then he taught me how to start the car, move and brake. He spoke mostly in chinese sprinkled with a little english. But I could still understand most of it lah.

Then we swopped seats and he let me take the wheel. So exciting. First time I got to drive a real car! Felt a bit like daytona, but couldn't crash around lah. I practiced moving off, braking and stearing. I even switched gears from 1 to 2. Then I basically drove round and round the driving circuit the whole time.

Only stalled a couple of times ;-) Clutch first then brake when braking with first gear. Brake first then clutch when braking with second gear. Can't wait to get my licence. Yep. Then I don't have to go all the way to bukit batok ever so often anymore. Muahahaha.

Dance lessons today were quite fun. And tiring. I think my slothful self prefers drum lessons. Just sit on a stool and move hands and legs. Ah well. Have to go through with it cos I already paid for it. Think my legs will ache tomorrow. Haven't exercised in such a long time. And it feels good to be able to dance when I'm well and not when I'm sick. Didn't blow my nose today :D

Spoke to a pharmacist 2 nights ago. My sis-in-law's friend I think. A Guardian pharmacist. Haha. She told me not to be a pharmacist if I can help it cos the market is a bit saturated. Told me that starting pay is quite good but the pay stagnates after a while. Then she said can either do clinical pharmacy, which is quite bad, retail pharmacy, which is basically like manning a shop, research or marketing. Think dentistry looks more appealing now. Haha.

If it's God's will, then let me get in. If it's not, then, His will be done.

I need to be more mature.
